SMPS (Switch Mode Power Supply)

               SMPS is the main part of the computer.. From there only your CPU and other components get the correct power supply.. Normally, in our home we get the AC(Alternative Current) power supply.. But its not a good for mother board components.. So, SMPS convert the AC to DC(Direct Current)..

              First we see, how to connect the SMPS with mother board.. Because all CPU components are connected with mother board only. According to the power connector, we have the following 5 types of mother boards. they are,
             * AT(Advanced Technology)
        • It has a 12 pin in the mother board to connect
        • It is available in White Color
                * ATX(Extended Advanced Technology)
        • It has the 20 pins in 2 rows
        • White Color

                      * ATXP4(Extended Advanced Technology Pentium 4)
    • It has the 24 pins in 2 rows
    • White Color

               * ATXP4HT(Extended Advanced Technology Pentium Hyper Threading)
          • It has the 28 pins in 2 rows
